Konciv strengthens UK presence with Aberdeen appointment

Konciv has appointed Barry McAllister as Business Development Manager for the UK, based in Aberdeen. The appointment is Konciv’s first commercial hire in the United Kingdom and follows the company’s decision earlier this year to establish a permanent presence in the North Sea’s largest energy service hub.

Barry brings more than fifteen years of business development experience in the energy sector, built across the UK, the Middle East and the United States. He joins from Moblyze, where as Senior Business Development and Account Manager he was responsible for the full sales cycle of a SaaS platform sold to offshore service companies – from first contact through demonstration, negotiation and onboarding.

Before Moblyze, Barry spent over a decade in senior business development roles serving the oil, gas and renewables industries, including as Senior Business Development Manager at NES Fircroft in Oman and Matchtech in Houston, and as Head of Energy for EMEA and North America at TDA. That career has given him a detailed understanding of how energy service companies plan, mobilise and deliver work – and of the operational pressures Konciv’s software is built to relieve. What Barry brings to Konciv

Konciv’s platform brings asset management, rental control, warehouse operations, maintenance planning, personnel mobilisation and logistics into a single operational system for energy service companies. In Norway, more than 75 companies run their operations on it. The UK market – with hundreds of service companies in and around Aberdeen still managing these processes across spreadsheets, legacy systems and manual routines – is the natural next step.

Barry’s role is to continue growing Konciv`s market. He combines two things Konciv looked for specifically: direct experience selling software to the companies Konciv serves, and a proven ability to build a pipeline from scratch through his own outreach. He knows the operations and resourcing leaders across Aberdeen’s service sector, and he knows how they buy.

“We have been deliberate about the UK,” says Henrik Heggland, CEO and founder of Konciv. “We wanted to be in Aberdeen with our own people, not sell into it from Norway, and we wanted someone who knows the service companies here and will put in the work to build relationships one at a time. Barry has done exactly that in his current role, selling software into the same companies we want to work with. He brings energy, a strong network and a real understanding of what our customers deal with every day. We are very pleased to have him on board.”

Growth in Aberdeen

Barry starts on 9 November and will work from Aberdeen, with close links to the product, customer success and leadership teams in Stavanger. Konciv is establishing a UK company, Konciv UK Ltd, to serve UK customers directly, with local contracting, support and invoicing. The company expects to grow the Aberdeen team as the customer base develop.
